Since 2001 BMW has offered the Mini car as an independent brand. Exactly ten years later Mini comes out with a concept car for the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the Mini Paceman Concept.

Mitsubishi i-MiEV

Mitsubishi brings the first mass-produced all electric car, the i Miev out onto the roads. All those letters stand for Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle.

Mitsubishi’s little electric car rebadged as the Citroen C-Zero and the Peugeot iOn can already be ordered from dealerships and will soon be delivered to the first customers. Compared with the Japanese version, which has been out in Japan since July of 2009, the European left drive variant has been slightly modified.

Porsche GT3 R Hybrid at the Nordschleife

Porsche presents the 911 GT3 R Hybrid at the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. It’s powered by a 6 cylinder Boxer engine with 4 liters of displacement and a cracking 480 horsepower. The electric drive for the additional boost is located at the front axle, where we find two 6 kilowatt E machines.

Ford Focus

Up till now Europe was the main territory ruled by the Ford Focus.
Now the third generation is out to conquer the entire world.
Ford’s latest edition of its hatch heads out as an international car. Ford has already initiated production of the new Focus in Saarlouis, Germany and in Michigan in the States.
At launch Ford is offering the new Focus with a choice of six different engines. Four gasoline versions ranging in output from 105 to 182 horsepower and two diesel variants with either 95 or 163 horsepower. Other engines are scheduled to follow. Among others a particularly economical three cylinder gasoline version. Engineers have made sure that the excellent driving behavior of the former model has been consistently advanced for the new Focus.
Pricing for the new Focus starts at 17,850 Euros.

Mercedes-Benz SLK world premiere

Mercedes celebrates the 125th anniversary of the automobile. With the new SLK, for instance. Racing chief, Norbert Haug, along with Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg and David Coulthardt came by express their congratulations. The third SLK has really matured. A true sports car with a striking nose. The 190 SL from 1955 sends its official greetings.

Three different engines are available right now for the new SLK. The two with superchargers are four cylinders that displace 1.8 liters and generate either 184 or 204 horsepower. The completely newly developed 3.5 liter V6 churns out 306 horsepower.
Besides the standard suspension, Mercedes also offers the option of a stiffer, sportier tuned chassis with electronic spring control.
A start stop automatic is also on board the new Mercedes SLK.
And Mercedes is already taking orders for the new SLK.

The new Peugeot 508

A new lion roars as Peugeot launches its 508. Following the world premiere at the Paris Motor Show, the big family Peugeot now heads for the dealerships. As a sedan and wagon with a choice of seven different engines.

This January VW took the wraps off its new prototype the XL1. The ultra flat two seater could go into production as a 1 liter car.

At the Qatar Motor Show VW had its XL1 on center stage and even offered test drives.

Mercedes-Benz F-Cell World Tour

As part of the festivities commemorating the 125th anniversary of the invention of the automobile on January 29, German Chancellor, Dr. Angela Merkel and Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of management of the Daimler AG fired the symbolic shot to start the Mercedes Benz F Cell World Drive.
