Bajaj to launch the bigger Ninja on 8th June 2011

Its time for Indian bikers to rejoice as Bajaj Auto will be officially launching the Kawasaki Ninja 650R on 8th of June 2011 at their plant near Pune!

For most time, the Indian two-wheeler space has either had very bare basic commuters or stretched single cylinder machines tagged as affordable performance bikes or then directly the litre-class rocket-ships which have very little real world use on our Indian roads. What most bikers will agree and would want is a practical 600cc sports motorcycle that is comfortable and practical for our roads yet fast enough to offer biking thrills. And the Kawasaki Ninja 650R is just that in every sense of the word and Bajaj Auto is launching it here in India on 8th of June 2011.

The bigger Ninja is not only comfortable but also extremely practical with raised street-friendly handlebars, comfortable and spacious seat as well as low ride height. The experience on the Ninja is believed to be quite apt for riding in India but the most important bit is that it is going to be priced extremely competitively in India. Imported as a CKD unit from Kawasaki’s manufacturing unit in Thailand and assembled at Bajaj Auto’s facility near Pune, the big Ninja is what many Indian bikers are and should be looking for if they wish for a no-hassle do-it-all motorcycle.

Pricing of the Kawasaki Ninja 650R is expected to be under Rs. 5.50 lakh (on-road Pune), which will make it cheaper than its immediate and only competition in India, the Hyosung GT650R. Knowing Bajaj Auto’s pricing strategies as well as hoping that they might have learnt from the market’s reaction to the pricing of the baby Ninja 250, there is a good chance that this speculated pricing might turn out to be true. Nothing is confirmed as of now and we all are waiting for the 8th of June 2011 for Rajiv Bajaj to officially announce the details and pricing of the Kawasaki Ninja 650R.
