The all new Hyundai Verna is priced at Rs 6.99 lakhs for the 1.4 petrol and Rs 8.09 lakhs for the 1.4 diesel option, and Rs 7.64 - 10.74 lakhs for the 1.6 litre petrol and diesel powerplants depending on what you decide to pick from the four options on offer (for both petrol and diesel models) in India.
Making an entry into a segment that is fast evolving on every front from technology, to passenger comfort and overall performance, the premium compact sedan club is surely getting better, but at the same time is also getting bigger, thus putting India’s premium C segment buyers in a rather spoilt for choice sort of scenario, which I am sure they don’t really mind being in.
So, here is the newest member of the already well to do premium sedan bandwagon, a car that in its second generation version finally trots onto the Indian roads after building a hype around it launch though every medium possible. The new Hyundai Verna with its fluidic design sculpture has finally been launched by Hyundai in its Indian manifestation, and will offer buyers four engine options.
First up is the 1.4 litre petrol unit that makes 107PS@ 6300rpm and 138Nm of torque @ 5000 rpm. The diesel burner with the same capacity will also be on offer, which churns out 90PS@ 4000 rpm and a decent 224Nm of torque between 1750-2750 rpm.
